  • Our son took lessons with Jeff Samataro during his four years of high school. Jeff met him where he was as a drummer and tuned into his potential. He made learning exciting and, yes, at times, challenging. But he had a way of encouraging our son to be the best he could be. He believed in his abilities and made him work to be a better musician. It was fun because it was rewarding. Jeff made a difference in our son's progress over four years. He was an all-state Jazz drummer and first in the state his senior year. He just left for college at one of the top music schools in the nation and was awarded the Presidential Music Scholarship to study contemporary drums and sound engineering. We are thankful for Jeff's passion for teaching, his commitment to his students, and his special way of reaching each musician to get the best from them. It is evident at the Ted Herbert recitals that Jeff knows how to teach, and he loves doing it.

  • This is a great place. I took drum lessons at Ted Herbert’s with Jeff for about 2 years. He is very passionate about what he does and just as knowledgeable on technique and the history of music. Highly recommend if you are looking to pick up drums, or even if you are an intermediate player.

  • Professional, courteous instructors who really have their students best interest at heart. My favorite perk is they do adult lessons as well as children. My older son can easily go to the same place his little brother goes for lessons. It is also right off the highway with plenty of parking in the lot.

  • Ted Herbert Music School has so many wonderful, supportive and enthusiastic music educators! Jeff Samataro is our son’s drum instructor. His instruction was the change our son needed to advance musically. Ted Herbert has a real community feel to it. Recitals are a wonderful experience for students and their families. There are so many opportunities to collaborate with other music students. Supporting community music outreach programs is so important. We thank programs like this for helping our son grow and challenge himself.
